This is actually the very first thing you should check — before anything else, including price. Even if a studio offers the most competitive rate in the area, if their shooting style does not match your vision, your ideal photos simply cannot happen.
Every studio has its own distinct visual identity. Some shoot in a bright, airy, natural style. Others lean toward sharp, cinematic, modern compositions. Some favor the warm, nostalgic feel of film photography. Browse the gallery and Instagram of every studio you are considering, and ask yourself honestly: “Is this the kind of photo we want?”

Point 2 | What Outfits Are Included — and Are There Upgrade Fees?
When a studio advertises “outfits included,” that phrase can mean very different things. It is one of the most important details to dig into before making your decision.
Some studios include only a small selection of outfits in their base plan, with almost everything desirable available only at an upgrade cost. 📸 Shots Taken
The total number of frames captured by the photographer on the day. More shots means more variety in expressions, angles, and moments.
💾 Photos Delivered
The number of edited, retouched images you actually receive after the shoot. If this number is low, the majority of your shots will never be seen again.
Some studios shoot hundreds of frames but only deliver 30 to 50 selected images. Others operate on a per-image pricing model, meaning that receiving all your photos requires a significant additional payment after the shoot.

Some studios include hair and makeup in the plan but charge extra for an on-location attendant. During an outdoor location shoot, which can last several hours, having someone on hand to refresh your look is essential — not a luxury.

How well the team looks after you on the day has a direct impact on the quality of your photos. Even the most skilled photographer in the world cannot capture a genuinely natural smile if nobody is there to help you feel relaxed and at ease.
