The Most Popular Pre-Wedding Photo Locations at Tokyo Station!

Hello everyone, this is Wedding Avenue Omotesando Minami-Aoyama branch.
Today, we’d like to introduce our most popular plan: the “Tokyo Station Perfect Plan.”

Tokyo Station is a well-known and classic location for Western-style pre-wedding photoshoots. It’s the most photographed location annually, and for good reason—the wealth of photo spots available, the stylish scenery of Marunouchi (often referred to as the gateway to Tokyo and the heart of Japan), and its overall aesthetic make it one of the most highly recommended locations.

Our plan includes not only Tokyo Station itself but also a perfect route that takes you through the most popular photo spots in Marunouchi!
From the vibrant trees at Brick Square, the charming red-brick architecture of Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, the fashionable streetscape of Marunouchi Naka-dori, the Wadakura-mon gate that still retains the essence of Edo times amidst a modern city, to the architectural masterpiece Meiji Seimei-kan—every spot offers a unique glimpse into Tokyo’s history and elegance.

All these locations offer a unique urban and historical charm, making them irreplaceable photo spots!
From here, we will guide you through a photo showcase of must-shoot scenes from the “Tokyo Station Perfect Plan”—complete with images!

Whether you’re considering Tokyo Station for your shoot or still undecided, we hope these beautiful examples help you choose. Be sure to read through to the end!

Let’s dive in!彡

① Meiji Seimei-kan: A Classical Doorway That’s a Must-Visit Spot

First up is the Meiji Seimei-kan.
So popular that some couples specifically request Tokyo Station for their pre-wedding shoot just to photograph here, it exudes a classical, dignified atmosphere.

Built about 90 years ago, this historic building even once hosted GHQ’s Supreme Commander MacArthur.
Although it may seem retro by today’s standards, it was once considered a pinnacle of modern architecture and has influenced future developments in architecture and art.

Designated as an Important Cultural Property, the bronze door gives off a sense of solemnity and power, making it a popular backdrop that feels like stepping back in time.
Note: Photo shoots in front of this door may not be allowed at certain times, so be sure to check with your planner.

Besides currently being used as the head office of the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company, this building also operates as the club restaurant Century Court Tokyo. Shortly after its construction, the building housed restaurants and bars, but after their closure, those bronze doors apparently remained shut for a long time. It is said that after a long period, it was revived in 2008 as a social gathering place in Marunouchi!

This photo features its exterior as the backdrop. The antique-style streetlights that softly glow at night, the arched windows, and the parallel, neatly designed white walls make for an outstanding background! Its versatility in matching any attire is also a delightful point.

Why not capture a breathtakingly beautiful photo at the “Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Building,” which carries on its history?

② Brick Square: A Lush Urban Oasis That Feels Like You’re Abroad

Next up is Brick Square. Located in Marunouchi, a historic district of Tokyo, it’s a relatively new commercial complex. Its stylish black exterior is cool and inviting, making it an open and fashionable building that you’ll want to drop by.

The photo shows the courtyard of Brick Square. It’s a popular spot where you can enjoy a nature-rich backdrop even in the middle of the city. Marunouchi may have an image of many office buildings and a bustling daily life, but this lush greenery offers a sense of calm and a slow passage of time. It’s a spot where you can capture both urban style and nature.

Inside, beyond the garden, there’s also an area with deep, overgrown greenery. Green is associated with tranquility and trust, so you can likely capture photos with a relaxed atmosphere. Many people feel nervous during unfamiliar photoshoots, but being in a setting so close to nature can soften expressions and undoubtedly create fun memories, so it’s highly recommended. The refreshing breeze, fountains, and charming flowers create a welcoming scene, making it an attractive place to take beautiful wedding photos!

That was a look at “Brick Square,” a space filled with stylish sophistication.

③ Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum: Red Brick Elegance in the Heart of Tokyo

Located right next to Brick Square, this red-brick museum evokes the feel of a European town.
Its unified red-brick exterior offers a Western, almost regal aesthetic—perfect for elegant wedding photos.

Every angle looks like a work of art, ideal for sophisticated, stylish photo shoots.
Currently under maintenance until around Fall 2024, it’s a spot many are eager to revisit once it reopens.

④ Nuanced Street Shots for a Modern Feel

If you’re feeling tired from the dress or the shoot, take a break and go for some relaxed, natural shots.
Close-ups of your feet in motion—a trending pose—symbolize walking forward together and create very touching photos.

Nuanced shots featuring your bouquet, rings, or city background also work beautifully with Marunouchi’s stylish streetscape.

⑤ Stroll Through the Chic Main Street of Marunouchi Naka-dori!

This stylish main street is lined with brand-name stores and high-end restaurants.
With a concept of “a city rich in artistry,” public art and sculptures enhance the Paris- or London-like elegance of the street.

Popular photo themes here include strolling hand-in-hand, shopping, or enjoying lunch together—perfect for a “romantic day out” concept.

⑥ Wadakura-mon: A Gift from Edo Castle

Near the moat, Wadakura-mon is a classic wedding photo spot—so popular it can draw lines of waiting couples!
A rare sight, this ancient gate amidst modern buildings creates magical, otherworldly photos.

At night, the city lights add a wonderful spice, transforming it into an even more charming photo spot!

During the day, the gate standing firmly in the cutting-edge urban center of the city gives an impression of history and the passage of time.

However, at night, it blends into the cityscape, creating a romantic atmosphere.

Both daytime and nighttime have their own unique appeal, don’t you think?

Which view of the Wadakura Gate do you prefer? ☻

⑦ Tokyo Station: A Living Work of Modern Art

now for the main event – the photo spot you’ve been waiting for! It’s the Tokyo Station building, also featured in our “Tokyo Station Perfect Plan”!

Built in 1914 (Taisho 3), the Tokyo Station building has continued to evolve to this day, overcoming numerous hardships such as earthquakes and fires. It serves as Tokyo’s symbol and face, welcoming and transporting countless people! Remaining almost unchanged since its opening, it’s a historical building with captivating design details, a stylish brick exterior, and a striking silhouette! Even now, efforts are being made to create a space that conveys its history to future generations. ☻

When you really think about it, isn’t it amazing that we can share almost the exact same view as someone who lived over 100 years ago? It truly shows how beloved and cherished this facility has been! The unique atmosphere that only its long history can create is undeniably the ultimate photo spot, captivating all who see it!

At night, you can capture photos with the illuminated station building as your backdrop! It’s incredibly romantic and will surely be an unforgettable photoshoot!

During the day, the station building offers a different impression! Its design and colors, reminiscent of a painted world, combined with the modern high-rise buildings, create a refreshing yet intricate and delicate beauty! Let’s take some dynamic photos with the station building, a symbol of the cheerful and vibrant Marunouchi district, as your backdrop!

⑧ The Moat: Dreamlike Reflections for Fantasy-Inspired Photos

Near Wadakura-mon, scenes by the moat look like they came from a movie.

Reflections on the water’s surface, twinkling lights, and skyline views all create magical photo opportunities.

It’s also a popular spot for its beautiful night views, allowing you to capture photos that truly convey the feeling of being in the heart of Tokyo.

However, the somewhat melancholic and nostalgic scenery seems to reflect a different side of the bustling metropolis. ☆彡

You’ll undoubtedly be captivated by the night view, as you gaze at the scenery reflected on the shimmering water’s surface!

⑨ A Winter Tradition: Sparkling Illumination in Marunouchi

Marunouchi is famous for its winter illuminations.
From November, over 340 zelkova trees glow in champagne gold, making this a sought-after photo spot on social media.

With crisp winter air and fewer light-blocking elements, photos taken in this season appear especially vivid and clear.

⑩ Tokyo’s Chicest Night Views in Marunouchi

While there are many night view spots in Marunouchi, Tokyo Station remains the most romantic and highly recommended.

Reflection shots are particularly popular.

The moat serves as a backdrop, mirroring the nightscape like a looking glass!

The sight of the moat dyed in luxurious colors can really lift your spirits!

Why not try a photoshoot exuding mature charm in Marunouchi at night? ♡
