Top 6 Popular Photo Spots in Shirotori Garden
Covering 3.7 hectares, Shirotori Garden is the largest Japanese garden in Nagoya.
With around 1,500 trees, it offers a breathtaking natural setting.
Centered around Seiutei and Shioiritei tea houses, the garden transforms with the seasons, providing stunning backdrops all year round.
The inner and outer roji (garden paths) around Seiutei are lush with greenery and boast spectacular autumn foliage.
Near Shioiritei is the grand Deai-bashi Bridge, a perfect spot for cinematic scenes.
You can also take romantic strolls through the garden, capturing shots against beautiful backdrops like the waterfall, winter snow ropes (yukitsuri), or the main building’s charming covered walkways.
The Remarkable Tea Houses of Shirotori Garden

Shirotori Garden features two tea houses and a large hall inside the main building.
The photo above shows the “Ichinoma”, an open and airy room where you can enjoy sweeping views of the garden.
Right next to Ichinoma is “Ninoma”, perfect for seated, side-by-side shots and for capturing the intimate ambiance unique to traditional tea rooms.
Crossing the covered bridge to the long main house, you’ll find a larger tea room with Western-style seating called “Ryuurei-seki” —
shooting here against the historic backdrop is also very popular.
You can even sit on the bridge for a romantic shot, with the tranquil pond flowing gently behind you.
