Pre-Wedding Photoshoot at Koishikawa Korakuen, Away from the Hustle and Bustle of the City

Enjoy a seasonal pre-wedding photoshoot at Koishikawa Korakuen.
Koishikawa Korakuen is a Japanese garden built during the Edo period and is said to be the oldest existing garden in Tokyo today.
Inside, you’ll find expansive grounds so vast you’ll forget you’re in the heart of the city, with breathtaking seasonal scenery spreading out before you throughout the year.
In spring, cherry blossoms in full bloom. In early summer, refreshing greenery.
In autumn, vibrant autumn leaves. In winter, a landscape blanketed in white snow.
A photoshoot surrounded by tranquility and seasonal breezes will surely become an irreplaceable memory for you both.
We invite you to enjoy your shoot during your favorite season♪
① Edo Period Garden Beauty Steeped in History

In 1629 (Kanei 6), Tokugawa Yorifusa, the first lord of the Mito Domain, began construction, and it was completed by the second lord, Mitsukuni (known as Mito Komon).
It is a strolling-style landscape garden with hills and a pond, incorporating elements of Chinese and Japanese aesthetics, highly regarded as one of the most beautiful Japanese gardens.
It is also designated as both a Special Historic Site and a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the Japanese government—a rare “dual designation.”
A must-visit for those who love history and culture✨
② The Beautiful Vermilion “Tsutenkyo Bridge”

A striking vermilion bridge that stands out against the greenery.
It was modeled after Tsutenkyo Bridge at Tofuku-ji Temple in Kyoto, and its charm is especially prominent during the autumn foliage season.
When the surrounding trees turn shades of red and yellow, the bridge stands out even more, evoking the beauty of Kyoto’s autumn scenery.
※ From May 1, 2025 (Thu) to Aug. 29, 2025 (Fri), reconstruction work will be carried out due to aging, so photography is not allowed.
③ The “Engetsukyo Bridge” Reflecting a Full Moon in the Water

A dynamic stone bridge, forming an elegant arch that resembles a full moon.
Built in the early Edo period, it is one of the oldest stone arch bridges in Japan and a highlight of the garden.
The arch of the bridge and the trees reflected in the water create a mystical scene.
Photos taken with the stone bridge in the background have a timeless beauty.
④ Seasonal Natural Beauty at “Daisensui & Oigawa”

Koishikawa Korakuen’s “Daisensui (Large Pond)” and “Oigawa (Large River)” are key features of this strolling-style garden with hills and a pond, constructed in the early Edo period.
These landscapes convey the culture of Edo-period gardens and offer changing seasonal beauty year-round.
Especially during the autumn foliage season, the waterside scenery becomes spectacular, captivating many visitors.
⑤ A Glimpse of Edo-Era Life at Kuhachiya

In the depths of the garden stands Kuhachiya, a thatched-roof reconstruction of an Edo-period sake teahouse.
It recreates the elegant atmosphere of an Edo-era establishment.
Kuhachiya is the perfect place to relax in a setting that evokes the spirit of Edo.
⑥ A Special Shot with the Fragrance of Tatami

Koishikawa Korakuen also has Japanese-style tatami rooms, making it possible to capture the ever-popular seiza (kneeling) pose.
If you’re shooting in kimono, this is definitely a must-have special shot (’ω’)✨
