Osu Shopping Street: Retro-modern photo wedding.

Hello from THE SKY WEDDING!

Have you ever been to Osu Shopping Street?
Located in the heart of downtown Nagoya, Osu is home to over 1,200 shops!
Formed by eight major streets crossing each other, it’s a huge commercial area, and if you’re from Nagoya or nearby, you’ve probably visited at least once for shopping or fun!

Osu is often described as a “melting pot” shopping district.
From cafés, izakayas, and street food vendors to electronics stores, vintage clothing shops, brand boutiques, card shops, and maid cafés—
It’s a colorful, eclectic mix of shopping and entertainment, loved by people of all ages!

Today, we’re featuring a photo wedding shoot in the lively, vibrant Osu Shopping Street!
We hope this inspires couples considering a unique and memorable wedding shoot.
You might even spot some nostalgic places from your own memories!

Let’s dive right in.

Point 1: Nostalgic Streets That Tug at Your Heartstrings

As mentioned earlier, Osu Shopping Street is formed by eight major roads like “Osu Hondori” and “Monzenmachi-dori.”
You might think the atmosphere changes from street to street—but surprisingly, it doesn’t!
All of Osu retains its charming, retro feel throughout.

The nostalgic, retro ambiance is simply enchanting—it’s like stepping into a classic movie scene!
Capture your moments with a timeless, emotional vibe that feels both serene and profound.

Point 2: The Hidden Magic of the Back Alleys

Next up: the secret charms of Osu’s back alleys!
Step just a little off the main streets, and you’ll discover even more wonders.

This photo was taken in front of “Tomoshibi Apartment,” a cozy café and vintage shop.
With its neon signs and retro renovation of a 40-year-old izakaya, it offers an irresistible nostalgic vibe.

The backgrounds may not be glamorous, but their deep, classic atmosphere creates truly unique, irreplaceable photos!

Point 3: A Perfect Blend of Retro and Modern

By now, you’ve got a feel for Osu’s retro atmosphere, right?
But Osu has another important side—it’s also super modern!

Faced with competition from nearby entertainment areas like Sakae and Nishiki, Osu embraced subculture trends
bringing in card shops, gaming stores, themed cafés, and even foreign influences to reinvent itself!

This fusion of retro and modern creates a totally unique “retro-modern” world.
It’s a location where you can shoot both nostalgic and cutting-edge photos in the same place—one of Osu’s biggest charms!

Point 4: Strolling and Snacking at Famous Osu Eateries

Osu is also known as a foodie paradise!
With countless eateries competing for attention, it’s the perfect place for a “snacking stroll.”

Unique sweets shops, year-round shaved ice cafés, and famous Taiwanese fried chicken stalls—you’ll find all kinds of treats perfect for photo ops!

One must-visit is Shinjaku Main Store, known for their nostalgic, sweet-and-savory mitarashi dango, a beloved traditional taste!

Holding your favorite snacks while smiling naturally makes for adorable, candid wedding photos!

Point 5: No Need to Worry About Rain!

One common concern with location shoots is rain.
A rainy day could disrupt your schedule, especially if you’re on a tight timeline… it’s heartbreaking!

But don’t worry—most of Osu Shopping Street is covered by arcades!
You can continue your shoot even on rainy days, stress-free. Plus, in the hot summer, it provides much-needed shade too!

Look out for the giant Maneki Neko (Lucky Cat) statue inside the arcade!
Fun fact: a raised right paw is for attracting money, while a raised left paw invites people and good fortune.
Strike the same pose for a super lucky wedding photo!

In Conclusion
