Introducing the Popular Pre-Wedding Photo Locations at Motomachi Park & Berrick Hall!

The Palm Room with Its Distinctive Black-and-White Tiled Floor

Hello everyone, and thank you for visiting our blog!

The cold days continue—how have you all been spending them?
Tomorrow, even the Kanto region is forecasted to see snow, and it looks like the temperature will drop sharply…
Please take good care of yourselves and let’s get through this chilly winter together!

Now, the places we’ll be introducing this time are the lush green Motomachi Park in Yokohama’s Yamate area,
and Berrick Hall, built in 1930 as the residence of British trader B.R. Berrick.

Standing on a 600-tsubo (about 2,000㎡) site, Berrick Hall is a Western-style mansion designated as a Yokohama City-certified historical building.

With its exterior, interior, and gardens, it offers a wide variety of photo opportunities.

When you think of location photography, you may imagine only outdoor shooting,
but here you can also take photos indoors, so even in the cold winter you can shoot in comfort (^^)

So, please enjoy discovering these heart-throbbing spots until the end ♡

1. Elegant photos in the living room

On the first floor, the spacious living room is about 47 tatami mats wide with a ceiling height of about 4 meters.
Arched openings on the north and south sides allow natural light to pour in, filling the room with brightness and charm.
Inside, you’ll also find a stone fireplace decorated with floral carvings.

2. Piano shot

The living room is beloved not only by tourists but also by locals, and is used as a space for concerts and background music performances.
The piano placed there can actually be played ♬

A perfect shot of beautiful music being performed.
Why not capture a memory of yourself playing the piano in a wedding dress? ♡

3. A stylish guest room unified in blue

This guest bedroom is impressive with its blue walls and charming clover-shaped “quatrefoil” windows—a traditional European design.

It creates a glamorous backdrop that beautifully highlights the couple ♡

4. Elegant staircase shot with presence

On the red-carpeted staircase, the groom gently leads the bride by the hand, creating a princess-like shot.

Don’t worry if you’re not used to posing—the photographer will guide you!
Of course, if you have poses you’d like to try as a couple, please let us know (#^.^#)

5. In front of the Western-style house against the blue sky

With its Spanish tiles, triple-arched entrance, tiled roof chimneys, and many decorative features,
the cream-colored exterior creates a bright and elegant impression in photos!

It feels just like being abroad (^^)/

6. Enjoying the openness of Motomachi Park♪

The retro white telephone booth is a popular Instagrammable spot!!
You can even take a playful shot like this ♡

The combination of greenery and Western-style buildings in the park creates a calm and refined atmosphere.
In spring, you can enjoy cherry blossoms; in summer, water features; and in autumn, the red and gold of autumn leaves.

If you want to feel like you’re in another world, or capture memories in an extraordinary setting—
this is the perfect spot!

Cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons are especially popular, so we recommend booking early!!!

7. With Ehrismann Residence in the background

This Western-style house, with its white and green exterior, is simply adorable.
Within Motomachi Park, there are three Western-style buildings, and you can take photos at each one.

Walking arm in arm looks just like a wedding scene—it’s wonderful ♡

8. Savoring a foreign atmosphere

The third Western-style house is Yamate No.234.
Designed by Yoshikura Asaka around 1927, it was built as an apartment house for foreigners and remains one of the few surviving historic structures in Yokohama.

It was part of the reconstruction efforts after the Great Kanto Earthquake, created in hopes of encouraging foreigners who had left Yamate to return.
Designed compactly and rationally, the apartments were meant to be used in many ways by many people.

9. Between the pillars

Yamate No.234 is also designated as a Yokohama-certified historical building.

With its cute retro color scheme, the architecture enhances the charm of your photos!
Please enjoy shooting naturally and comfortably, just as you are ♪

10. Inside Yamate No.234

The interior colors are lovely and pair perfectly with the groom’s tuxedo ♡
This sense of unity makes the photos even more stylish.

We also offer a wide range of tuxedos, so choosing one to match the atmosphere of the location is highly recommended (^^)

11. Stepping outside Berrick Hall

Motomachi Park is filled with greenery, surrounded by classical Western-style houses.
As the warmer season approaches, the flowers in the park will soon be in full bloom!

If you are considering a spring pre-wedding shoot, now is the perfect time to make a reservation (^_-)-☆

In Conclusion

We’ve introduced Berrick Hall, enchanting visitors with its diverse decorations, and Motomachi Park with its lush greenery—what did you think?

The moment you step inside, it feels like you’re traveling abroad.
It’s a spot packed with classical charm that architecture lovers and retro enthusiasts alike will adore.
