Introducing Popular Pre-Wedding Photo Locations at Kansenen Garden!

Hello everyone reading our blog!
This time, we’re excited to introduce a photo wedding at Kansenen Garden  in Shinjuku, Tokyo (^^)/

Kansenen Garden  dates back to the Edo period and has been selected as one of the 100 Historic Parks of Japan.
Its name, Kansenen Garden, comes from the fact that the spring water in the garden was ideal for tea.

The park features a pond, stone bridges, and a traditional gazebo—making it a perfect setting for kimono photography!
Depending on the season, the atmosphere changes beautifully—you can enjoy cherry blossoms, lush greenery, and autumn leaves.
Why not enjoy a kimono photoshoot while embracing the beauty of the seasons at Kansenen Garden?

Let’s take a closer look at Kansenen Park!
Please enjoy reading until the end (^^)/

① A Japanese Garden–Style Entrance

Kansenen Garden is the only strolling garden in Shinjuku.
A strolling garden is designed with pathways that allow visitors to walk around while admiring the scenery.

At the entrance of Kansenen Garden stands an impressive gate.
Simple yet refined, it matches perfectly with couples in traditional attire.

Beyond the gate, the path leading into the garden features stone lanterns, letting you feel the Japanese atmosphere even before entering.

② On the Stone Bridge

The stone bridge over the pond is another wonderful spot for kimono photography (^^)/

The park has two ponds—an upper pond and a lower pond—and a graceful stone bridge spans the upper one.
Photos of the couple walking across this bridge are simply stunning ♡

Between the upper and lower ponds, steppingstones add even more charm, allowing for diverse photos with ponds, bridges, and stones.

③ The Gazebo (Azumaya)

The spacious gazebo (azumaya) is another highlight (^^)/

Here, couples can sit and take a short rest.
Candid shots of natural conversations or a moment of relaxation also make for beautiful memories.

While gazing at the tranquil garden, couples can relax and feel at ease.

④ Overlooking the Entire Park

Photographing the park from a wide perspective enhances the traditional Japanese garden atmosphere.
The serene backdrop complements couples in kimono perfectly!

The greenery around the pond is lush and beautiful, creating a natural setting for your photos.
In autumn, the trees turn vibrant red, offering spectacular foliage.
You can even capture pampas grass swaying alongside the autumn colors (^^)

A shot of the couple’s reflection in the pond makes for an especially enchanting image…♡

⑤ Seasonal Trees

Near the entrance, you’ll find cherry and plum trees—perfect for enjoying seasonal blossoms.

Many couples wish to take photos with cherry blossoms or autumn leaves in the background.
At Kansenen Garden, the abundance of nature makes it easy to embrace the season in your photography.

⑥ The Mountain Path

Three sides of the garden feature gentle hills, creating a mountain path ambiance.
A small waterfall nearby adds to the atmosphere, with the soothing sound of flowing water accompanying your shoot.

Photos of the couple walking together as if enjoying a casual stroll create warm, natural expressions (^^)

⑦ Surrounded by Nature

The garden is designed around the pond, offering different views from different angles.

While casual walking shots are lovely, chic and mature photos with a refined mood are also possible.
By incorporating a Japanese umbrella, your images become even more elegant.
