This time, we would like to introduce the Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall, which opened on July 1, 1917, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Yokohama’s opening as a port, funded by donations from citizens, and now designated as an Important Cultural Property♪

Known affectionately as “Jack,” the hall is one of the Three Towers of Yokohama, alongside the “King” (Kanagawa Prefectural Government Building) and the “Queen” (Yokohama Customs). With its red-brick architectural beauty and iconic clock tower, it stands as a symbol of Yokohama.

Located on Nihon Odori Avenue, the area surrounding the Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall itself has a Western-style cityscape.
