Wedding photography at Tokyo National Museum

Hello everyone! Today, we’re continuing our introduction to the highly popular plan at our sister store in Tokyo! Introducing the “Tokyo National Museum” Photo!☆

For those unfamiliar with Tokyo, the name might ring a bell but the image may not quite form… The “Tokyo National Museum” boasts a 150-year history since its establishment in Ueno, Taito Ward! It’s also famously known by the nickname “Tohaku”☆彡 It houses approximately 10% of the national treasures and important cultural properties in Japan, with over 30 million visitors annually from both domestic and international locations!! Being one of the top museums in the country, it hosts numerous exhibitions every week, with displays changing each time, offering a fresh experience with every visit♪

Now, let’s move on from the overview and get to the main point! In a word, a photo wedding at the “Tokyo National Museum” is classically elegant. Super sophisticated. It’s truly a location where you can feel like a princess!

It’s called one of the most difficult-to-book locations because it fulfills the dream of a photo wedding that everyone admires and sparkles for. In reality, it’s often difficult to get through by phone, and even when you finally do, reservations are already full. Despite these challenges, the allure of the “Tokyo National Museum” lies in the irresistible desire to capture its breathtaking scenery, even if it means waiting in line!!

Now, let’s go through the types of photos that can be captured here one by one! Since they’re all incredibly romantic, please anticipate them with excitement!! Let’s get started~!!

①Royalty at its finest! The "Grand Staircase" with its glossy marble that elevates emotions to new heights!!

First and foremost, let’s introduce the “Grand Staircase,” one of the top attractions at the “Tokyo National Museum”!!

The interior, crafted from smooth and uniquely glossy marble, exudes a sense of sacredness and nobility akin to a church, while also evoking a luxurious and dignified atmosphere reminiscent of a castle.

Especially at the Grand Staircase, often considered the main attraction, combining dynamic scenes with the train of a dress or the movement of a veil creates a sense of dynamism so vivid that it feels like the photos are moving right in front of you, resulting in beautifully lustrous and elegant photographs♪ The combination of the glossy marble staircase and charming dresses is outstanding♡ Utilizing the train to clearly showcase its length enhances the style, resulting in a more stylish and classical impression, which is delightful♪

Stairs are often likened to life itself, with both challenging uphill climbs and easy downhill descents. Photography on the Grand Staircase captures the essence of sharing both joy and hardship together, signifying a lifetime of companionship and mutual support♡ Truly a perfect photo spot for wedding photography!!

With a voluminous dress, you can achieve bold and striking photography, while with a mermaid-style dress, you can showcase a graceful and ethereal look, both of which are highly recommended styles for this location!

Inside the museum, symmetry is evident with golden doors marking the boundary! The beauty of the refined space, coupled with clear perspectives, enhances the presence in the photographs. Therefore, it’s desirable to create wedding photos that pay attention to every detail, from the texture and weight to the design and impression♪

Why not create an unforgettable photo wedding that reflects your personal taste and style…??

② A fantastical and magical photo spot! The vividly colored "Stained Glass"♪

Next up, let’s introduce the magnificent “Stained Glass” located near the landing of the staircase! With the synergy between the marble walls and the “Stained Glass,” it creates an ambiance reminiscent of a cathedral, overflowing with grandeur!!

It truly feels like stepping into another world, akin to a medieval European-themed movie, or perhaps even stepping into a fairy tale like “Beauty and the Beast,” exuding such elegance! Wedding photos taken against such a backdrop of depth will turn out to be incredibly sweet and romantic, like melting hearts♡

Amidst the solemn atmosphere of the museum, elements such as Western-style gilt lamps and the softly reflecting marble walls are all packed with photogenic qualities♪ Truly a dazzling photo spot that fulfills everyone’s dream of wedding photography☆彡

The serene ambiance of the “Stained Glass” features intricate and delicate natural colors, along with a subtle translucency that captivates the viewer’s heart, resonating with their sensibilities! While multiple “Stained Glass” pieces exist within the museum, subtle differences in the inner emblems suggest that the creators have meticulously crafted each one with unique designs in mind♪

In contrast to the symmetrical designs found elsewhere in the museum, the “Stained Glass” embodies a subtle asymmetry, maintaining a delicate balance. Despite its loose and charming impression, it’s said that some consider it the finest “Stained Glass” ever made, thanks to its well-balanced color scheme! There are even those who travel great distances solely to admire these glass artworks…!!

Why not capture a photo in front of these beautifully crafted stained glass, reminiscent of precious gems, to cherish for a lifetime?

③Dazzling in its seductive golden hue! Capture the coveted photo with the picturesque "Golden Door"♪

Next up, we have the splendid and opulent wedding photos taken with the “Golden Door” located directly in front on the second floor, just up the staircase we introduced earlier! You might have caught a glimpse of it in the photos from the grand staircase!

As you can see, adorned in luxurious gold, this spot exudes a nostalgic yet dignified atmosphere, making it a popular photo spot where wonderful wedding photos are captured!

You might find this scenery somewhat familiar! In fact, the Tokyo National Museum has been used as a filming location for the immensely popular drama “Bai Bashi da!” among others, adding to its already divine ambiance, making it a coveted setting for various films, dramas, and considered a sacred ground!

In the context of marriage, “gold” is often used positively, rumored to attract eternal wealth and good fortune! While it may be a literal interpretation of “gold,” this spot is indeed auspicious, symbolizing prosperity.

Beyond this door lies rooms that were once used as resting places for members of the Imperial Family and dignitaries! Hence, it seems that photography inside is not allowed…

Originally serving as the venue for the Yushima Seido Exposition held in the fifth year of the Meiji era, the Tokyo National Museum is steeped in history, with over 150 years of heritage!

Why not capture your lovely selves in front of this door exuding an elegant and dignified aura, creating unforgettable memories in this historic museum?

④Take a little break here...! Introducing some photography items♪

Here’s a little deviation from the introduction of photo spots, and instead, let’s introduce some cute photography items♪♪

First, on the right side of the photo! It’s a “garland” item with “JUST MARRIED” written on it, like a banner. This item is included in the package and comes with the photoshoot for free!! It’s a cute item perfect for commemorating your marriage journey♡

Next, on the left side of the photo! Wooden objects with “Mr.” and “Mrs.” written inside rings! Imagining both of you holding them together for the shoot is so exciting, right~!! While these items are usually offered for a fee, guess what!! For a limited time only, with just your consent to use the photos and a quick survey, we’re offering them for free!! We have many other attractive and cute photography items available as well♪ Using these items can elevate the mood and excitement for the photoshoot, resulting in wonderful and enjoyable photos!!

You can also bring up to three of your own photography items!! There’s no additional charge for this, so let’s make the photoshoot even more memorable by using your favorite items and meaningful belongings!!

⑤ The ceiling stretching in all directions is beautiful! It's the expansive and aesthetically pleasing photo spot, "Hyokeikan"!!

Now, let’s move on to the second half! We’ll introduce photos taken at the facility called “Hyokeikan”! This facility is located next to the main building and usually hosts special exhibitions and events! “Hyokeikan” is designated as an important cultural property representing Western-style architecture, and we’ll introduce the photo spots in it one by one.

First up is the entrance area! Unlike the solemn atmosphere of the main building, this area has a cute, castle-like design with a very stylish vibe. It features a soaring ceiling with illustrations of tools and musical instruments. Combined with the dome-shaped interior, it feels like the starry sky seen in a planetarium! Your photoshoot will progress in this incredibly romantic setting.

This photo spot is so fashionable and elegant that luxury brands even use it as a venue for fashion shows! It’s a must-visit spot for a photo wedding at the Tokyo National Museum ♡

⑥Not just the Grand Staircase! There's also the "Spiral Staircase" that evokes a wonderland!

The staircase at “Hyokeikan” is also a stylish photo spot!

With its handrails, wall carvings, and castle-like atmosphere, every part of the staircase makes for picturesque backgrounds! It exudes a retro and classical vibe, perfect for satisfying photoshoots ☻

Utilizing the steps of the staircase for shots or capturing the couple from behind are popular choices, offering cute and heartwarming photos that reflect the everyday charm of the couple♪

Don’t forget to check out the other staircase at the “Tokyo National Museum” as well!

⑦ Indulge in a taste of foreign charm! Experience the stylish European design of the "wallpaper"!

Next, let me introduce you to this “wallpaper”!

Rather than a contemporary design, it exudes a retro and chic impression, doesn’t it? This wallpaper can be found in the North Lounge of the main building, featuring finely detailed mosaic tiles adorning the walls! It’s truly a delicately crafted decoration, with intricate textures and soft hues that have garnered much popularity. Interestingly, souvenir handkerchiefs featuring this design seem to have been created too!

Capturing a cool and stylish wedding commemoration in front of this charming “wallpaper” that evokes a sense of foreign charm is definitely a dream!

⑧ Everyone dreams of a perfect wedding photoshoot! Let's capture the ultimate "proposal" scene!

At the “Tokyo National Museum,” the scene that can’t be missed is undoubtedly the “proposal”!

As mentioned earlier, the Tokyo National Museum boasts a solemn, sacred, and prestigious atmosphere. A “proposal” scene at this venue shines remarkably. How about recreating an emotional moment on the grand “Great Staircase”?

In addition to the “proposal” scene, scenes full of dynamism like being lifted up in the air or a kiss scene using the door with a castle-like atmosphere are also incredibly popular!

Choosing the shooting spot according to the scenes you want to create might be a great idea! The Tokyo National Museum offers a rich variety of backgrounds, making it popular for finding the perfect backdrop that matches the image you have in mind for your shoot.

Just thinking about what poses to strike already fills one with excitement! Be sure to capture some wonderful wedding photos that reflect the scenes you both dream of!

⑨ The beauty that leaves you speechless! Create artistic wedding photos with two different atmospheres and unique worldviews ☆彡

Photoshoot outside the main building! The immaculate palatial ambiance on both sides emanates such pristine beauty, leaving one in awe!!

While exuding an aura of grandeur and dignity, the building’s refined design and playful elements scattered throughout make it a charming photo spot!

Photoshoot outside the Kyomikan! Although it exudes a castle-like atmosphere, it leans more towards the impression of “Dracula’s dwelling,” with an eerie yet captivating allure, evoking a sense of quietude and immobility!

Just like its interior, the exterior offers picturesque spots that are unparalleled, making it possible to capture the most extraordinary photos!
